We’re reviewing the entire Northern Powerhouse Brew Series – and shock horror, we pull out a big hitter right off the bat!
This DIPA poured with the appearance of murky pineapple juice, with not a chance of seeing through the glass. The aroma is muted orange juice, with a little savoury note in there to soften the sharp citrus and just a hint of sweetness in the background.
Since the recent news that Heineken had purchased a minority stake in Beavertown, we’ve seen a number of high profile withdrawals from Beavertown’s Extravaganza. The festival scheduled for 7th-9th September 2018 will no longer have BrewDog, Cloudwater, Buxton, Verdant, DEYA, Evil Twin, The Veil, Brew By Numbers or Jester King in attendance (to name a few).
We love Signature Brew – they’ve made collaboration brews with some of our favourite bands and musicians and they’re on a mission to bring good beer to music venues, bars and festivals.
They’ve just announced a partnership with leading microphone manufacturer, Shure, to incorporate their microphones into their signature tap handles. READ MORE
You’ve probably heard the news by now, Beavertown have sold an undisclosed minority stake to Heineken for an estimated £40 million.
There’s been a lot of discussion on this already, some positive, mostly negative. BrewDog have stated they’ll no longer be selling Beavertown beers and won’t be attending Beavertown’s Extravaganza. Cloudwater have also pulled out of Beaverex – as did The Veil a few weeks back when the rumours reached their peak. A number of independent retailers including Hoptimism and Hop, Burns & Black have also decided to no longer stock their beers. READ MORE
Beavertown have today announced Heineken as a minority partner.
This partnership will allow Beavertown to finance the completion of project Beaverworld, which aims to multiply their output by ten – increasing from the current 45,000hl produced at their Tottenham Hale site to 450,000hl on a 125,000 sq ft single unit set on 6.5 acres of land within the M25. They also intend to have a 7,000 sq ft visitor space at Beaverworld. READ MORE
