Beavertown have today announced their plans to install a micro-brewery and open a taproom in Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium. Reminiscent of Mikkeller NYC’s installation at Citi Field, it’s very much a Premier League first and it’s great to see some quality beer on offer at a sporting event where we’ve long been restricted in terms of beer choices.
Pliny the Elder has long been the holy grail of craft beer, having been voted the Best Beer in America eight years in a row (2009-2016) by readers of Zymurgy magazine. Left Handed Giant are one of the rising stars in the UK craft beer scene. We’ve started getting more of their beers in Belfast recently and we’ve been blown away, both by the quality of the beer but also the stunning branding which made them stand out when filling our basket.
In the burgeoning craft beer scene, it’s vital to stand out from the crowd. Left Handed Giant do just that, with their whimsical, beautiful artwork. They’re probably the most visually impressive cans in the UK right now so we were super excited to chat to James Yeo, the artist behind the artwork, to find out more about their creative process.
I had the pleasure of attending all three days at this year’s Hop City, both as a staff member and patron. The quality of IPA on show was extraordinary with some of the most sought-after breweries from near and far in attendance – from Cloudwater and Verdant, representing the best the UK currently has to offer, to Equilibrium and Other Half showcasing fantastic American IPAs.
