Ireland’s antiquated drinking laws mean if you want a decent beer during Easter, you need to plan in advance – and get the beers in. Easter is more often associated with chocolate eggs, bunnies and the resurrection, so with that in mind, we present the Top 5 Easter Beers…
Evil Twin – Ryan and the Beaster Bunny
A fluffy saison originally conceived on the island of Fano on the west coast of Denmark. It sounds like a fairytale but don’t be fooled – it’s still a 7% ABV beast.
Mikkeller – Hoppy Easter
Hoppy Easter was originally brewed in 2010. We’re not actually sure if it’s still brewed now – but it was a rebranded version of their Drikkeriget GIPA – a german style IPA. It’s called Hoppy Easter, so it goes on the list. Our list, our rules.
Stillwater – …Is Nothing Big Bunny Is Everything
We loved this beer – it’s a big, imperial milk stout. A sweet, creamy beer full of cacao and roasted coffee flavours. It also happens to come in a pink can with a bunny on it. Chocolate? Check. Bunnies? Check. Easter beer.
Pipeworks – Easter Bunny vs Unicorn
An American-style, wheat wine ale, coming in at 10% ABV, full in body and dry-hopped with Hallerteau Blanc. Also, one of the best beer names we’ve heard in a while.
Evil Twin – Even More Jesus
On Easter Sunday, Jesus was resurrected, so there’s no more aptly-named beer for Easter, if you think about it. It’s a stunning beer, thick and fudge-like, pitch black with overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee and dark fruits.
