We’re reviewing the entire Northern Powerhouse Brew Series – this is the final beer in the series, after 008, 006, 007, 001, 002, 003 and 005.
The last of the series is one of the more traditional styles on show. The beer pours a lightly hazy golden colour, with notes of brown sugar and bubble-gum leaping out of the glass. Just when I was flagging, this brought a nice fizzy zing to the party.
The additions of jasmine and orange keep this beer light and refreshing with a softly sweet finish that made me want to go back and drain the glass. Complex yet subtle with the way it blends all the flavours, this is a very well crafted beer and one that is worth the wait. A quality end to a great night’s beer.
Thornbridge walk the line being traditional “real ale” and craft with aplomb. They’re a major player in the UK scene and I’m Iooking forward to visiting Thornbridge Hall sometime soon for some fresh Jaipur at source.
