BrewDog have started using their distillery in Aberdeenshire to make hand sanitiser due to shortages caused by the coronavirus.
They’re not the only ones, with a number of other whisky and gin producers across Europe doing the same.
Hand sanitiser has been identified as an important tool in combating the virus, so of course it is increasingly difficult to get your hands on across the UK.
BrewDog co-founder, James Watt announced their plans on Twitter, with the first batch of their BrewGel available from next week.
Hand sanitiser is selling out everywhere. So we have started using our distillery to make Punk Sanitiser. We want to do all we can to help everyone get through this difficult time. pic.twitter.com/mDCQLCyPX6

They will be given away for free to those who need it in the community, including local charities.
They won’t be on sale, as further clarified in a follow-up tweet.
Just to be clear, we will not be selling the sanitiser. But giving it away to those who need it. pic.twitter.com/hLjJLhjpuW
