Whiplash Celebrate One Year in New Brewery

This month, Whiplash celebrate the one-year anniversary of the first official brew in their very own brewery, custom built in 2019.

Initially founded in 2016 as a side project for Alan Wolfe and Alex Lawes, both already working in the brewing industry, Whiplash went full time in 2017. The lads started off gypsy brewing around Ireland and later wider-Europe, taking slots where available to produce both the core beer favourites as well as special editions. Northern Monk and Hesket Newmarket - Scafell collaboration beer

What started as a potential copyright dispute over the use of the ‘Scafell’ name has turned into a much more positive story as award-winning Leeds brewers Northern Monk and Cumbrian co-op Hesket Newmarket Brewery have chosen collaboration over conflict.

Hesket Newmarket Brewery, one of the very first microbreweries in Cumbria, flagged the use of ‘Scafell’ in the name of a recently launched Northern Monk beer, having already trademarked the iconic Northern landmark for their Scafell Blonde Ale. READ MORE

Ace Pizzas - Pembury Tavern, Free Food for kids this Half Term

Hackney, London’s pub, The Pembury Tavern, recently participated in the initiative to provide free school meals for kids over half-term, offering free pizza for local families who needed it, no questions asked.

Inspired by Marcus Rashford’s continued efforts to ensure no kids go hungry who normally receive free school meals – and despite Labour’s bid to extend free school meals beyond term time having been rejected by MPs – Pembury Tavern were one of thousands of restaurants nationwide who stepped up to fill those plates.

Beavertown Brewery are pleased to announce their latest beer, From The Deep. It’s their biggest and boldest hoppy IPA yet – a hazy 8.5% monster dry hopped with Idaho 7, Vic Secret, Citra and Sabro Cryo hops, boasting warm tropical fruit aromas, a hint of coconut with juicy mango and pina colada top notes.

There is a very limited batch of this hard-hitting, hazy DIPA and the brewery have also created a specially made small batch of From The Deep caps and signed prints by Creative Director, Nick Dwyer. READ MORE
