In a recent blog post published this week, Cloudwater announced head brewer and co-founder, James Campbell, had left the brewery to pursue other interests.
If you’re unfamiliar with Cloudwater, er, where have you been? Founded in 2014, the Manchester based brewery rose to prominence as one of the leading lights in the UK craft beer scene and were named as the second best brewery in the world at this year’s RateBeer Awards.
Earlier this year I had the pleasure of serving beers alongside Dave Stone, one of the owners and directors of Wylam, and Ben Wilkinson, their head brewer and all round good guy, at Hop City in Leeds. Their enthusiasm and infectious personalities make it impossible not to love these guys and I had a blast serving their excellent beer and chewing the fat with them both.

I had very high expectations, and that’s a sign of how much I love Cloudwater and Wylam but this was my first slight disappointment of the series. From the can, it poured a viscous brown and there was an instant hit of big sweet smells spilling out of the glass. READ MORE
