BrewDog are set to open the world’s first alcohol free beer bar, BrewDog AF, on 6th January, 2020.
Opening its doors this coming Monday at 211 Old Street in Central London, they’ll be serving a range of alcohol free beverages, Ellon-roasted espresso coffee and BrewDog’s food menu – burgers, wings and some healthier offerings.
It’s a bold move for the UK’s biggest craft brewer to open a bar that doesn’t sell any of their alcoholic beverages – or indeed anyone else’s – but BrewDog have never been afraid to do things a little bit differently. The intention is to change the belief that ‘alcohol-free = taste-free’ and to create an inclusive space.
Whether you’re doing Dryanuary or Tryanuary, you’re covered here – you can try one of the 15 alcohol-free beers available on tap and still be ‘dry’!
This new alcohol-free bar has been described as a pilot location, so presumably if it goes well, we might see more BrewDog AF bars pop-up in the future.
At first glance, this seems a little bonkers but when you strip it back, it really just sounds like BrewDog are looking for a piece of the restaurant/coffee market here – yes, the USP is the alcohol-free beer – but realistically, you’re going here for food, aren’t you?
